Families can now report their child's absence online via Campus Parent Portal. Log in on a computer or download the app from your app store.

You can use the Absence Request tool to submit a request that informs the office in advance when your child is not going to be in school. After the request is processed, Campus creates an attendance record for your student.

Programs like WebEx, Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc ask your permission when you open the app.  If your microphone or camera are not working in these programs, close the app and start it again.  You should be asked for your permission to access them again.  Click 'Allow'

If you are having trouble logging into Schoology on the Chromebook or the Chrome browser, try clearing your cache. 

Also, make sure you are connecting to the correct school in Schoology.  If you accidentally chose the wrong school, East Ridge CA, you may need to clear your cache in the browser for it to allow you to choose a different school.

You must use you district username and password to log onto all district issued Chromebooks.

If you have CenturyLink with a C1100T Router you may need to setup a firewall rule on the router.  On the router go to Advanced Settings > IPv4 and create a new rule (TCP Port:8080 Type:Allow)

If you have set this up in the past, you may need to re-enable it.

Teachers will be using Google Meet to connect with students.  Follow the link to view the Google Slideshow on how to setup and connect to Google Meet on an iPad.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap "General" in the menu on the left.
3. In the right column, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Reset
4. Tap "Reset All Settings" (You won’t losing any documents. It only sets the iPad back to factory setting.).
5. Enter your iPad Passcode and the iPad will then reboot.
6. Log back into the iPad.
7. Open Settings.
8. Tap Wi-Fi (left column) and connect to your WiFI
9. Tap the Home button
10. Browse to a webpage in Safari
11. If or when you are prompted with the proxy settings, enter your USERNAME (not full email) and PASSWORD.

If you are getting a white screen when logging into the Schoology App on the iPad, you need to close the app.  Watch this video to learn how to close the app.

Comcast/Xfinity firewall setting should be set by default to 'Low' but some routers may have it set differently. 

Schoology is an online learning platform, or Learning Management System (LMS), used at all secondary schools in SoWashCo Schools. In Schoology, teachers post assignments, classroom resources, quizzes and a course calendar with due dates and deadlines. Students and parents should use Schoology to review assignments and grades and stay on top of academic progress.

SCHOOLOGY FAMILY GUIDE

Notifications are daily or weekly opt-in messages that notify parents, via email or text, of their child’s academic progress. Parents will be notified about homework, graded tests and assignments, recent activity, upcoming tests and other due dates.

Once you are logged into Schoology and you have connected to your child(ren) you can Setup Notifications.

NOTE: Notification settings affect all children so you only need to setup notifications for one child.

1. Click the dropdown arrow next to your name at the top right
2. Choose any child that you are connected to in Schoology
3. Click the dropdown arrow next to your child's name at the top right, then click 'Settings'
4. Click the Notifications tab and change the settings to your preference. Don't forget to click 'Save Changes'

If you forgot your Schoology Parent Account password, click HERE to reset your password. You will need to enter your account email address and check your email for a link to reset your password. This will also reset your Campus Parent Portal password. 

Use the Schoology app to stay up to date with course content, assignments, and events. Below are the steps to login using the Schoology app. 

In the app, select the button that says Sign in through my school

Begin typing in "South Washington County Schools" in the Find your school domain field

Select the option "South Washington County Schools" with the green dot 

Select Go to SSO

Enter your Classlink credentials

• Enter your username 
• Enter your district password
• Enter your code: 
  • Students: 833
  • Guardians: 833Family 

Schoology does not allow an email address to have multiplies roles (Staff and Parent) nor does it allow an email to exist in more than one school district. Schoology parent accounts are created automatically using the contact email address in Infinite Campus. It is strongly advised that staff use a personal email address as their contact. This is also true for parents that work in other school districts. because staff Schoology accounts are created with district emails.

To view information for another child that's associated with your parent account, follow the steps below.

1. Click on the menu and choose "My Children" it's listed below the home icon
2. Click "More" in the upper menu
3. Select the name of your child that you would like access

Schoology will not allow a parent or staff account (email address) to be associated with more than one school district. 

If you have another Schoology parent or staff account from another district, you will need to either inactivate that account or create a new Schoology account with a different email address. 

Inactivating accounts can only occur by the technology support team for the school district that your account is at.  If you have a support contact, you can email them directly and request that your parent account be inactivated. SoWashCo Schools support can also do this on your behalf by emailing the request to schoologyhelp@sowashco.org

To make sure you receive emails, check that your email address is verified to receive emails from Schoology.

1. Click the arrow on the top right of Schoology.
2. Select your account from the list that appears in the dropdown.
3. Once you're in your account, click the arrow again and select Account Settings.
4. If you haven't yet verified your primary email address, you'll see a message to Resend verification email.  Check the box next to the message and Save Changes.

5. Once you receive the verification email, click the link provided in the email to verify your email address.

Note: if you don't receive the email at the correct time of day, check the timezone associated with your account from your Account Settings.

Already using Seesaw? 

Follow these instructions to add your child's new journal to your existing account. You can also follow these instructions to add another child to your account. You will need an invitation from your child's teacher to add the appropriate information to your account. 

With the QR code provided by your child's teacher (On iOS, Android, Chrome or Firefox): 

1. Sign in to your parent account.
2. Tap your profile icon (top left).
3. Tap “+ Add Journal”.
4. Scan the QR code on the handout from your child's teacher.

With a link provided by your child's teacher:

1. Follow the email link or type in the URL on the handout from your child's teacher.
2. Choose your child from the class list.
3. On the signup screen, click the "Sign in" tab at the top instead of creating a new account.
4. Sign in to your existing account and click the “Register for Updates” button.
5. The teacher will need to approve your access. Once you have access, you can tap the Journals  button to switch between journals.
    

Seesaw Family Guide

Seesaw requires an invite from your child's teacher in order to sign up. 
If you do not have an invite QR code or link, contact your child's teacher. 

Installing Seesaw? 

iOS Device, Android Device, Computers with Chrome or Firefox Browsers:

1. Download 'Seesaw Parent and Family' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or go to https://app.seesaw.me using Chrome or Firefox and choose 'I'm a Parent'. 
2. Choose 'Create Parent Account' and scan the QR Code or use the link on your child's handout.
3. Finish creating your account to view your child’s journal.

Other Smartphones & Computers:

1. Using any web browser, go to the URL on the handout or email from your child's teacher. It should look something like this: https://app.seesaw.me/s/123-456-789. 
2. Choose your child from the class list and create an account.
3. After you’ve been approved by your child’s teacher, you’ll get access to their journal. We'll email you to let you know when you've been approved.
    

At this time family members can only reply to a message their child’s teacher once he or she has sent a message. Family members are not able to compose new messages to teachers unless replying to a teacher sent message.

If you are SoWashCo Schools teacher that utilizes Seesaw, you will have two Seesaw accounts, a teacher account and a family account. You can login to both accounts with the same email address. 

On the web:

1. Go to: https://web.seesaw.me

2. Choose “I’m a teacher” to access your teacher account OR choose I’m A Family Member to access your family account.

3. To Switch Between Accounts:

Tap on your name in the upper left corner of the screen, tap on the cog wheel and click “Switch to Family Account”.  You can toggle between these two accounts at any time.

On a mobile device:

There are two different apps for Seesaw on mobile devices. Teachers will use the Seesaw Class app to access their account.  Family members will use the Seesaw Family app to access their account.

1. Sign into your Seesaw account.
2. Click on your profile icon.
3. Click on the gear icon.
4. Click account settings.
5. Under Class Notifications, you can enable email, IOS, and SMS (text message) notifications.  You need to add a cell phone number to receive SMS notifications.
